Avenida Pedro Alvares Cabral s/nº

Brazilian architect, Oscar Niemeyer, and landscape artist, Burle Marx, designed one of the largest parks in São Paulo. Some of the many delightful features included in this wonderful park are four lakes, a plant nursery, a Japanese pavilion, a Planetarium, a Folklore Museum and art museums including the oldest museum of modern art in the country.

The Municipal Theatre was established in 1911 and has had performances by famous national and international artists such as Enrico Caruso, Maria Callas, Anna Pavlowa and Baryshnikov. With its luxurious decoration and modern equipment the Municipal Theatre remains one of the highlights of the cultural life of São Paulo.

A walking tour that takes visitors around the famous cultural and historical city centre. You will see the beautiful Municipal Theatre, which has been the home to many famous operas, concerts and ballets. The tour leads to other significant historical sites, as it travels through Anhangabaú Valley and the Patio do Colegio where São Paulo was founded.

Liberdade

The Japanese immigration to Brazil began in the early twentieth century. Currently, Brazil is home to the largest Japanese population outside of Japan and most of them are in Liberdade neighbourhood. On Saturday s and Sundays, happens a traditional fair which offers typical food and souvenir shops.
